Now hosting big Broadway shoes and popular performers like Doc Watson and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Walhalla Civic Auditorium was once the humble stage of the Walhalla Grade School. Though the school dates to 1903, the auditorium itself wasn?t added to the school complex until 1915. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was last used as the Oconee School District administrative offices. In 2004, the entire complex was deeded to the Walhalla Civic Auditorium Restoration Committee, which aims to provide a first-class facility for shows, conferences and seminars that enhance the cultural and educational life to the area.
